2023 Seeds Fund Recipient
Guji Highlands used a 2023 Seeds grant to help build a coffee seedling nursery in the town of Dambi Udo. The nursery will provide farmers in the surrounding area with improved coffee varieties distributed by the Jimma Agricultural Research Institute (JARC). This nursery is part of a larger program implemented by Guji Highlands that supports coffee farmers not only with seedlings, but with farming supplies as well. This support ensures coffee sustainability and quality from it’s early growth stage throughout its production.
Seeds Program
Counter Culture Coffee collects $0.01 from every pound of coffee sold to fund our Seeds program. Annually, $1 per pound of our winter coffee blend, Iridescent, goes to further increase our contribution. Seeds offers financial grants to producers and producer organizations we work with to implement sustainability projects they identify as beneficial. To date, we’ve allocated over $450,000 to Seeds projects.
